Adriana Arenas, M.D., is a nonsurgical spine care physician at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute, specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. She is board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and cares for patients with spine conditions, neurologic injuries and musculoskeletal disorders. Dr. Arenas focuses on restoring function, improving quality of life and preventing complications associated with injury or disability. She develops personalized rehabilitation plans that incorporate the goals of patients and their families, ensuring that each plan is realistic, collaborative and patient-centered. She works closely with therapy disciplines and medical specialists to coordinate care and support recovery from every angle. Her clinical interests include electrodiagnostic medicine, including nerve conduction studies and electromyography, nerve blocks performed under ultrasound guidance and skin biopsy for the diagnosis of small fiber neuropathy. She has extensive experience in spasticity management using botulinum toxins, performing injections for conditions such as sialorrhea, cervical dystonia, temporomandibular joint disorders and migraines. Dr. Arenas additionally provides amputee care, wheelchair assessments and orthotic prescriptions for limb and spine support. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Arenas treated patients at Medical Arts Neurology in Miami. Dr. Arenas earned her medical degree from Universidad El Bosque School of Medicine in Bogotá, Colombia. She completed an internship at Miami Children’s Hospital and served as chief resident during her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Her training emphasized functional restoration, neurologic rehabilitation and nonsurgical spine care, forming the foundation for her comprehensive clinical approach. Dedicated to advancing medical knowledge, Dr. Arenas has shared her expertise by publishing in medical journals, teaching future physicians and participating in clinical research. Her patient care philosophy is rooted in meaningful connection and teamwork. She believes that the best outcomes come from true partnership among the physician, patient and family. “Rehabilitation is a team effort, ” she says. “Understanding each patient’s expectations helps me create treatment plans that support independence, comfort and long-term well-being.” Dr. Arenas is fluent in English and Spanish and conversational in Portuguese. In her free time, Dr. Arenas enjoys cooking and boating.
